Michael Nielsen

Michael Nielsen is a Research Fellow at Y Combinator Research. He is one of the pioneers of open science and quantum computing. In addition to authoring books about both subjects, he is the author of a book about deep neural networks. His research focuses on developing new tools to augment human cognition, especially human memory and collective cognition. As part of the latter interest, with Patrick Collison he has studied the overall rate of progress in science, and whether the rate of major scientific discoveries is slowing down.
